Ron Bowes used a piece of code to scan Facebook profiles, collecting data not hidden by the user's privacy settings. The list, which has been shared as a downloadable file, contains the URL of every searchable Facebook user's profile, their name and unique ID. Full Story On BBC
I think that Mr Bowes might think he is being "helpful" in highlighing the issue of FaceBook security and publishing the list, but I cant help but think he has just published a list of 100m FB users to everyone, even those people that perhaps couldn't have done it for themselves - if you are on the list you won't have to wait long for the spam emails or worst case ID fraud to roll out.
