Content quality vital to SEO
Studies have repeatedly shown that ads and websites with well-written copy consistently perform better, yet the message is still not getting through to companies with an online presence.
And Jake Hird from econsultancy has added his voice to warning clients that copywriting is a vital component of a successful SEO strategy and that many companies are failing to convert advertising clicks or website visitors into paying customers because of badly written ad text or website copy.
Potential customers are easily put off by badly worded copy and click elsewhere when they encounter grammar and spelling mistakes or ill-informed content.
Most importantly, website copy should be clear and straight to the point.
Internet users have a short attention span and will quickly move on if they are presented with a website overloaded with text or flowery language that gets in the way of the core message.
And site owners are also being urged to think about the way the website text is formatted or displayed if it is to capture the reader's attention and make the most of any hard-earned increase in traffic through traditional SEO measures.
