Facebook is a social networking web site; it has approx. 50 million registered users worldwide and is reported to have 150k new users every day. Not bad for a web site that is barely 2 years old.

The deal is said to provide development money in the interests of a long term advertising deal.

Earlier this week a security warning was given concerning the use of social networking sites and the information that is placed there. Many of these sites encourage users to put personal information about them selves on the internet which can help fraudsters clone the user’s identity, taking out credit agreements in the users name and without their knowledge.
