Google launches new keyword tool
Google has launched a new keyword tool that will help search marketers and SEO's improve their keyword strategies and clients bolster their revenues.
The program, appropriately named Google Search-based Keyword Tool, is primarily aimed at its search advertisers and enables them to spot keywords they're not currently using in their AdWords campaigns.
But the tool could also prove equally useful for natural search optimisation, as you don't have to have an AdWords account to use it and it also lets you analyse keyword data that are relevant to rival sites.
The application doesn't allow you to see which keywords competitors are already advertising for, but if you have an AdWords account it will reveal any keywords your own site may have overlooked, by filtering out those terms you're already bidding on.
The keyword ideas page returns the monthly number of searches for each keyword combination, along with a suggested bid price to achieve a top three ad spot, and also shows the percentage of the time a site appears in a search ad or gets first-page organic ranking.
Google is hoping it can boost its coffers with the new tool, as advertisers look to bid on keywords they hadn't previously considered.
arns them more money.
