SEO best value for online leads
It's official: natural search is the most effective digital marketing method for generating leads, according to research carried out by leading online marketing resource, e-consultancy.
The company has just published its Online Lead Generation (B2C) Report, which it produced in collaboration with lead generation specialists, Clash-Media, based on the views of 600 digital marketers.
Respondents considered search engine optimisation to be the most effective means of generating leads online, with more than half, at 52%, describing natural search as very effective, while the figure for paid search (PPC) was less than half at 48%.
Natural search was also the commonest online method used by respondents for generating leads (79%), followed by e-mail marketing (75%) and paid search (71%).
The report also highlights how natural search provides the best value for money with SEO only grabbing 15% of online lead generation budgets.
By contrast, PPC took a third of respondents' budgets, despite natural search being perceived as more effective.
With such powerful evidence demonstrating the benefits of natural search, perhaps we SEOs need to do more to persuade clients to think natural search.
