SEO blogging is a long-term commitment

If you are looking to start a blog to enhance your organic SEO rankings then you need commitment, well thought out ideas and a genuine interest in the topic if you are to make a success of it in the long-term.

There are a staggering number (around 90% ) of blogs that are either abandoned or updated less than once every four months- according to Technorati.

The good news is that starting a blog is undoubtedly beneficial to SEO because it builds content but it also creates a "stir" which will attract discussion elsewhere (thereby creating links). However, too few people tasked with the job of writing the content still have the passion and commitment once the initial honeymoon period is over.

They either become embroiled in other work responsibilities or simply don't have the necessary passion for a topic to blog about it over a longer period of time.

Bloggers who are not sincerely enthusiastic about the theme of the blog that they will expose their shallow knowledge of the subject and soon hit a brick wall.

Consequently, they will be unable to maintain a community of readers, who demand a consistent stream of interesting content.

And as a result, the blog goes the way of the majority of all blogs and ultimately ends up in failure.
